Docker and Kubernetes

An open, containerization platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications. It enables to package and deploy an application or service as an isolated unit containing all of its dependencies whether on laptops, data centre VMs, or the cloud.

In one word we can say Kubernetes is a "container management software".

Kubernetes (sometimes shortened to K8s with the 8 standing for the number of letters between the “K” and the “s”) is an open-source system to deploy, scale, and manage containerized applications anywhere.
